- I would suspect that you have older (pre 6.1x) firmware in the 1496.
- back before V.34/V.FC was around, it was only intending to identify the
- ZyX tones.. the problem was corrected circa 6.14 roms.

- type ATI1 from a terminal screen, and it will tell you what firmware you
- have. If you have 6.13 or less, send email to tech@zyxel.com, reference
- this post, and they will update your firmware for you.
